Sophie’s Beach Trip

I’m on a quest to stop my daughter from growing. That or figure out how to freeze time. I actually like the freezing time thing better. That way I can sleep longer when she sleeps and take on more projects when Christine sleeps. I constantly hear from other parents how their 5 year old called another kid a poo poo head or how they had to monitor their kids facebook account or how their teenager didn’t get asked to prom. Ugh, I’m not ready for those ages yet. I love Sophie’s age right now and I want to keep her that way for a bit longer. I’ll just make another one when she gets to that age. Jk, I really can’t wait for all those experiences. I do hope I am her best friend (maybe a tie with Christine). I do hope she can talk to me about boys and I can be the over protective dad that can shine his gun when she brings a boy home. I hope she asks me to be my assistant someday and takes up a passion for photography and becomes super awesome just like her dad. Jk, not really. I hope she asks me to help her with her homework. I hope she texts me ever hour when she gets her first cell phone in college. I hope she asks me for advice. I hope she wants to hang out with me and watch stupid funny movies and doesn’t talk during movies or fall asleep (Sorry Christine). I hope she loves Transformers. I hope she is never embarrassed to give me a hug and kiss and tell me she loves me in front of her friends. I hope she asks me to help her plan her wedding. I hope she will cry more than me when we dance at her wedding. I hope that she will always know how much I love her. I hope that she stays this age a lot longer.
I am really fortunate to have the time I have to spend with her. The only time I am apart from her is at most once a week when I am off shooting a wedding. And a day feels like a week when I don’t see her.
Anyways, not sure how these pictures tie a long with this post, but we went to the beach this weekend. And yes, I dressed her. I know it’s not beach attire and she probably looks like she works at Ranch 99, but whatever. She’s cute no matter what she wears.
